According to CBS, (Statistics Netherlands) the number of online stores in the Netherlands is projected to increase by 810 in Q2 2024, reaching a total of 95,385. The majority of these stores sell fashion (21,735) or home and garden items (18,385). Of these online stores, over 2,200 are affiliated with Thuiswinkel.org, representing more than 70% of all online consumer spending in the Netherlands.

Online sales, for products and servcies, are also on the rise again. Throughout 2023, they increased by 1.1%, and in 2024, online sales have been rising every month, with April being a standout month with an 8.4% increase.
